Our Open Programmes
An organisation's approach to leadership development should cover the needs of the organisation, the aspirations and developmental needs of individuals and be aligned with the vision, mission, values, culture and business strategy. Our Open Programmes incorporate a series of core themes that collectively provide a relevant leadership development framework to suit any organisation. As importantly, open programmes bring together participants from a wide range of backgrounds, experience and cultures; perhaps the single most defining factor in the programmes' impact. The power of peer group learning, two-way feedback, and diversity create a powerful learning environment and a fusion of personal energy and commitment to the learning process and occurs best when there is high activity and a symbiosis within the peer group brought about by learning through experience.
LtEI's Open Programmes have the relevant content, qualifying objectives and outcomes required in effective leadership development and are also learner driven.
A leader's behaviours are not always a reflection of the clear thinking that effective leadership requires, particularly when the leader is under pressure. Thoughts and behaviours are both rooted in feelings and emotions ... first the feeling, then the thought and very few learning interventions are designed to reach or explore this emotional level; providing further reason as to why leadership development is less favoured in academic circles and where, at times, 'expert knowledge' should give way and adapt to the prevailing group dynamics.
Learning to lead is difficult and entering this emotional domain; a traditionally uncomfortable arena for academia, is where LtEI has built its reputation. Leadership capabilities are demonstrated by a leader's abilities to lead and influence people effectively; developed through enhanced self-awareness, self-control, self-confidence, active listening and being able to 'read the emotions' in others. By engaging and inspiring others, they enable and support high performance in their teams. Leaders must also think and act strategically by providing clarity and a true 'sense of direction', drive change and produce winning results. In a business context, they act commercially, are customer and stakeholder centric, and mitigate risks whilst seizing on opportunities to develop and grow their organisations.
